Our Second Life Family Name will be: RadiKS. A family name is a name given to a group of people in the game. (Our initial family name was supposed to be Raven, but that was a name that was already taken by a large clan within Second Life, and the person setting up our account decided to give us our own name. I chose RadiKS, after the Kourier Service in Snow Crash.)

We will need to submit a list of Second Life first names to Linden Labs as soon as possible. My first name is "Professor" (so my whole name in Second Life is "Professor Radiks"). You can choose any word or name you like, including your real first name.

After submitting the list of first names to the Second Life administrators, they will create accounts for each of you and assign you a password. We will then be able to log in. To download the Second Life client go to http://www.secondlife.com/download and enter your Second Life first and last name and your password. This game requires a fast internet connection and a high-end video card. It will only run on Mac and PC (no linux). I am hoping to begin playing the game in class on Thursday, Jan 6.
